Mediocre Android Hardware in USA

I think we can all agree that Android is the biggest threat to iPhone and that in many ways Android surpasses the iPhone O/S. With that being said, I feel as if the device manufacturers have done a very poor job giving us comparable hardware to the iPhone, as in my opinion all of the Android devices I've put my hands on feel like toys. They are just not as solid as the iPhone and why the heck can't HTC, Samsung, or Motorola release an Android device with ample internal storage?

It's amazing to me that HTC, Samsung, Motorola and others have a clear target for competition and can't hit the mark versus the iPhone. It's right there in front of you guys!!!! I was really excited about the specs on the Behold II only to be very disappointed in the Touch Wiz interface, performance, and feel of the device. What the heck was wrong with the Android interface that Samsung has to ruin their device with Touch Wiz?

As a T-Mobile customer, I'm very disappointed in the hardware options so far via T-Mobile. Why can't someone release a device as solid as the iPhone, but with the Android O/S???? Why is this sooo freaking tough?????:mad:

internal storage is the one hardware spec the iPhone still has since the others beat it on hi-res, removable battery, better camera, etc.
But it's something that will be eventually be fixed by software...we know this because of the app2sd mods. It just has to be incorporated by google in the next android update.

Couldn't agree more about the larger internal storage needed for apps.

The internal storage issue is a must for long term success.

Am I alone in feeling the hardware released thus far feels cheap compared to the iPhone? It just seems like a huge missed opportunity on the part of the hardware manufacturers of Android devices. I have not played with some of the non T-Mobile Android devices, but the MyTouch, Cliq, and Behold II all feel like toy phones compared the iPhone.
