Member Status Question

I didn't really know where to put this, so I am going to try this here. I tried searching for it but couldn't find even a general Q&A. It really has no basis to what I do on Android Forums, but is more of a curiosity.

As you can see by my status, I have been a member since June of 2010. Back then I was rooting my Droid and mainly consumed information (I had one post until I got my Galaxy Nexus:o).

Since I've had my Nexus I have been bouncing around several forums trying to help people with varying degrees of success (140+ posts, 35+ Thanks).

Now today, I noticed that under my name it says Member and I specifically remember when I got back on the forum it still said New Member (even though it was 18 months after I joined). So now I have gone from New Member to Junior Member (which I total missed, just like my junior year in college :D) and am now a Member.

So how did I get this status of Member? Is it based on the number of posts? The number of thanks?

Shouldn't there be like a video burst of stars when you move up a rank like in video games, so people like me don't miss entire ranks?

I know I posting this with a bit of humor, but it is something I am curious about.

Mmm... Pancakes, can't wait. Anyway thanks for the info. I try to post only where I can add to the conversation :), and I take my thanks very seriously (given and received). I try to find all posts where I have been thanked to see where I am being helpful, sort of a self assessment. Is there a way to see that without viewing all your posts?

Click your username in the top right of the page, then hit statistics, then "Find all thanked posts by XXXX"

I'd say 1 post thanked in nearly 4 is a pretty good ratio, well played. :)

Found it. Awesome. It was easy when I only had a few post (and was ignorant to the fact that I was a Junior member :D) but you get up there and it got a little tedious.
 
The, EarlyMon, is not quite right, because you hit Junior Member, when you reach 15 posts(I remember that very clearly:), cuz it was like Christmas for me..two days of meaningless drinking...and the headache...uhhh!:(...nahh just kidding...:D:D), and yes, I saw some people with 98 posts and still Juniors - so it means that with 100 you should become a Member, and for Senior Member - I don't know yet....I am too small for that:)....maybe I should eat more protein food:confused:..

Nor3X must be correct, at the time he posted this he was a Junior Member and had only 23 posts.:)

I'm not sure if it is 10,000 or staying home from work sick yesterday, turning on the TV (while on AF) and realizing that my home football team (which I am a huge fan of:D) is playing in some kind of important game this weekend. Also, I see there is some kind of election thing too. Who knew?:p

Is there a news and current events forum here? I feel kinda out of touch.
 
Its 10,000 :D .you can barely see AF addicts as user titles .most 10k users have been hypnotised to servitude err ,I mean made staff or they go premium ( or become rom devs)
I have seen only one af addict and he became rom dev. Recently . :D

Actually,a lot of members that aren't on staff but have over 1000 posts were at one point or another. The members with over 5000 posts have all been on staff. There are a number of members with high post count AND are premium that were MOD. The premium is our 'retirement' gift from the Boss. *looks at Roze's Gold*, lol.

I am trying to get to my 10k :D Almost there XD I don't know how Steven does it...but man I need to take lessons from him.

I have a number of questions about this:

  1. How to become a Super Sayan? - I mean how to turn into "Golden"?? (cuz i have seen lots of golden members)
  2. What does it give me??? (special powers or something??:D)
  3. What is the difference between Golden and Green???

Could someone answer these???
 
Hello Nor3X. The gold color user name and gold "premium" badge are awarded to those who donate a premium fee to Android Forums (Phandroid).

There are a few special areas you'll then have access to as a Premium Member. :)

Those wearing the green user name and green "Guide" badge are members of Staff here, and help with member device issues, etc, and also help to keep the forums in proper order as to where threads belong, etc.

Let me guess...THE Galaxy Nexus Thread? :rolleyes: I blame those posts on Steven. Not only is that man a post whore but he gets everyone he comes into contact into being a post whore too!!! When Steven post...you cannot NOT reply to his post!!!
