I've seen quite a few threads on this subject, posted one or two myself. But today I discovered a possible workaround to stop it happening.
I am of course talking about 'corrupted' micro sd cards that worked perfectly well, have passed tests and then inexplicably become corrupted for no apparent reason.
Well this week I realised there was a link with this happening on my HTC Desire HD, and it almost always happens after connecting to the PC as a hard drive. Disconnect by either ejecting media from within windows, or telling the phone to stop connecting as a hard drive... either one can cause it and I have no idea why.
The result is a card that will no longer mount in the phone, and will either no longer connect to the PC or if it does, has changed many of the folder file names adding odd characters and such to them.
It got so bad I ordered a new card to replace the 16gb one that came with the phone, and the new one is a 16gb Samsung class 6.
I also got a new USB micro SD adapter.
So now I unmount the card, remove it and put it in the USB and then plug that into the PC.
So far not one single problem, tested it via connect as hard drive and corrupted card again.
So if anyone is having these problems, get a decent USB adapter and NEVER connect your phone as a hard drive.
I got fed up losing pics, so installed dropbox for android and all my pics are now auto uploaded, another way to save me some grief.
