Help Memory Card Issues

I read somewhere about someone having problems with the phone rebooting while charging. Tonight that happened to me, the phone was connected to the USB using the memory card to transfer data while charging.

When the phone came back, a huge number of photos are 'missing'. Obviously it's something to do with the indexes being screwed. Can someone please recommend a utility that I can use to interrogate the card fully? I have copies of some of these pictures, but not all of them

well the first thing to do is to test the card is the size it reports to be (i.e not fake) or broken using h2test2 from a pc:

Then if it is not, you can attempt recovery from your pc using handy recovery:

I have these apps to hand in my dropbox at all times.

Thank you, I wasn't exactly sure what the first app did, but between your HandyRecovery and PCInspector I was able to recover most of the files that were lost.

Would you recommend formatting the disk now?

The first app tests the card. Looks for errors. If its a 16gb card and it reports only 8gb is useable, often the card is fake. Worth trying it. The problem with fake cards, if you go over their hidden true capacity. Instead of a message saying disk full, it simply over writes other data

If you got it from a shop that's reputable then no need. Ebay? Definitely

hi i just had my desire around 2 months ago and it was allright wen i started using it and like after a months it showed a problem in memory card and used to write please insert a sd card while i do have in there . i just with my memory card with others mobile if its having a problem but it was working but it didnt work out with desire .m having problem and dont know how it happened ..can u help me with this
