Memory Card Question

Can I use a
SanDisk Ultra 32 GB microSDHC Class 6 Memory Card

in my Droid Razr HD

Timing is everything. I was just getting ready to post this:

Bought one of these for both my HD and wife's M. I have had a couple of issues with mine not showing files I transfered from my PC to the card. Everything seemed fine after we did the factory reset (see previous post) until Wed. when I noticed one whole folder was missing.
I though Verizon Backup ***'t was the culprit but Verizon didn't think so. They felt I had a defective card. I went to the Vz store and they put the card in a display Maxx and it too couldn't display the files. We tried to determine if the card was incompatable with the Max but the Rep. couldn't find any data one way or the other. He suggested I try the card on my Asus tablet and the tablet card on the Maxx. He also gave me the number for Motorola to see if they knew of issues with the card. They didn't. They suggested I reformat and start over. I did. Same result.
I then swapped the cards and the class 4 SanDisk 32gb from my tablet works just fine with the phone AND the Ultra works just fine with my Asus Transformer Slider (also on ICS, BTW). Both have the same files on them, loaded the same way.
I took the card from my wife's M and added the photo files from my PC to her card and she too cannot display them. The files show as there but they show empty boxes. When you read the card with a reader on a PC they are all there. Now here is the crazy part to me at least. The pictures from her old phone were transfered by the store rep when I purchased the M, to this card. They show fine. Now why would that be? It is only 39 pictures. Maybe it has to do with the size of the file? The two transfered files were 200 and 800 pictures each.

What gives?

It's good you posted this, mine literally started doing the same thing. It's been saying music is incompatible with my phone, files not showing up, even getting a "SD card is damaged" message. Which is weird since it hasnt done this up until recently. I had it in my brother's GS3 and it runs just fine in that, although I don't know if it will work that great since I used it for like 10 minutes. I had just transferred my music back by copying 700-800mb at a time instead of the whole 16 or so GB folder. Maybe its overheating quickly and causing it to fail?

So that's two of us so far, I'd probably vote avoid. I might have to grab a different card.

On newegg, I saw people having problems with class 6 microSD cards in mobile phones not just Sandisk memory and not just Motorola phones. I saw better reviews for class 4 which seems to still be the most stable on mobile devices. The GSkill 32GB class 10 microSD does look promising for mobile devices though if you don't get a DOA. I bought a class 4 16GB for the wife's M yesterday. Put the two files in question plus her files on it and it is working quite fine. I sent her Ultra to the son for use in his S3. I'll post after he lets me know his experience with it.

I am using a 32GB Sandisk class10 microSDHC ultra card in my razr with no issue. Works flawlessly.

Seems to be just the class 6 model then. Well that's unfortunate, I figured it was a good middle ground between 10 and 4.

If you are using windows and it shows up as a media device, it won't refresh for some reason. I had this issue when I first got mine.

Present it as a usb drive and all is well (can't remember if that was actually an option, I'm running Jelly Bean and presenting as a drive isn't an option anymore).

The problem here is that the card was placed in other devices and still isn't showing all folders. If you just got the card take it back where you purchased it from.

If that's not an option you may have to reformat the card. My apologies if you've already done that and I just don't remember.

The Ultra works just fine on the S3. No idea why it didn't on the Max or the M. I never used the phone to format them so that may have been it but for now we won't know since all the phones and tablet are now working fine which means I won't mess with then no more.

Having the phone format it won't work, tried it myself. Many times over. There's just some issue between the card and phone. I'm pretty gutted about that too since I was hoping the RHD would work with it when my DX didn't. Oh well, live and learn.
