Accessories Memory Card Speeds

Does anyone know?

I know that Micro SD cards are rated as a "class" number, that number being the speed in megabytes per second transferred. A class 4 can transfer 4mb per second, a class 10 can transfer 10mb per second.

My question is this..................how fast can our phones transfer a megabyte? If i buy a class 10 card, can my phone transfer at that speed?

Where can a person find this info out?

TIA for your reply.

Do you know of any app that can tell me the read/write speed of a certain phone ?????

How do you know at what speed the device can do this so you can not have to pay for a card that can not be used at full speed?

Class 10 cards are optimized for writing large files sequentially, like use in cameras.

Slower cards are optimized for reading small files randomly, which works best for Android devices.

Your best bet is a SanDisk class 2 or class 4, which rates the fastest in tests.
