Memory Woes

Hi,

i'm new to Android and i'm having a few issues. The major one is even though I have an 8 gig card fitted, it the phone keeps saving things to the internal storage. As such The phones memory is now full and i'm unable to receive text messages as there is no memory available to store them.

I've go into the memory part in the setting menu but all it tells me is how much I have left. Is there any way I can move everything on my phone to the memory and then set it so it uses the sd card as the default?

In a way u are asking for 'apps2sd' option. No. this is not available in default 2.1 eclair that comes with our phone. But when u update it to 2.2 froyo, with 8gb memory card u can install many hundreds of applications on ur sd card directly. . anyway with eclair u can use free apps such as 'movetosd' and 'ccleaner' from the market. but i don't think so u can save lot of memory by this apps. Only sol is to update ur phone to froyo..

Thanks. Guess i'll be upgrading to froyo then. Have to do it the hard way then since samsung havn't brought out the official update.
