Help Menu bar disappear when data enabled

Hello all. I am new here.
I have a Droid X, and have recently found a problem that I can't fix. My menu bar disappears a few minutes after I enable my data. I've tried the vertical finger flip thing (not the middle finger yet:D) but that doesn't work. After turning the data off, the menu bar will come back after a few minutes.
Any thoughts? I'd rather not do a factory reset, but if I have to I will.

Welcome to Android Forums, dingpud (great user name :D).

Are you using a 3rd party launcher, such as ADW? I'm thinking that whether you are or not, there could be a setting that is not playing nice with the portion of the system that enables data.

I'd go into application manager and clear cache and data on the launcher and any theme being used. I'd also double check other settings that may be related, such as notification bar invisibility, etc.

The factory data reset would likely remedy the problem, but I'd sure think of that as a last resort. ;)

Thanks for moving post to appropriate area.

I am running the original launcher. When I first noticed the problem I tried adding a new launcher, but that didn't fix it.

The home screen (where the phone shows time, date, and unlock tab) is all shifted up as well. Kind of like the whole screen went up the distance that the notification menu bar took up.

I cleared out what cache I could find on running services, but no luck yet...

One additional problem which seems to be part of this cluster of problems is when data is enabled, and my phone rings, you know for an actual phone call, it involves some serious finger pounding on my phone to get back to the actual phone app. It doesn't automatically go to the call like it should. Not sure if that helps...
 
Apparently it is the Yahoo Mail application. I removed that account, and this is the longest that the notification bar has been up.... Fingers crossed.:confused:
