Menu buttons and screen acting weird

I bought my wife a s2 a week ago and she recently told me that several times a day the phones menu button lights up and the screen goes crazy. She says it lasts about 10 minutes. Any ideas? I don't experience this with my own s2. Thanks on advance

Search Phantom menu key presses, its an issue with some S2 E4G touch phones (mine included). send it back to where ever you got it. If that's not an option contact Samsung for repair RMA.

Yeah mine started it too it's been flashing thru all kinds of screens and I still have the charge problem. I have it unplugged ant it's telling me it's fully charged and to unplug charger lol. I'm going to best b## and preorder a s3, with my warranty I will have to pay around 100 bucks and upgrade. But I will still stop by here cos this is the best group of ppl I have found on this site. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Some of the S2 left the assembly line with the shielding missing. So when the phone is working in a low signal environment the radio chip is producing a stronger signal and the digitizer board mistakes as you touching the screen. I also have it with mine... There is no fix, short of changing parts. If you are interested in the details here is the link to the long version of what i said.. :) Sprint Community: Intermittent problem with Menu popping up uncommanded [Solved!]<-- imho not solved....

Thanks for the input guys. I should mention her g2 is refurbished so I cant "send it back". but she'll manage. and she gets terrible reception at her job so that very well could be it. Like i said i bought mines new and dont have the problem. thanks again

I simply changed the key layout (disable the menu button & turn the search button into the menu button) Problem solved & it saved me from snapping my phone in half..............:D I take NO credit for this as I only used it give thanks to the members that deserve it :smokingsomb:.... Ill find the link & edit it in . Here it is, not that hard as Codegerm talked me through it & i'm not a whiz by any means... I can do it with my eyes closed now ;) http://androidforums.com/galaxy-s2-...706924-fix-phantom-press-fix-touchwiz-jb.html

The button change does not work for all phones. The search and menu buttons are the ones that phantom click on my phone...

Crap.... Sorry man you got a two button'er :( after the change over on my layout my search key has popped up a couple times but only twice so it must have been extreme circumstances........ Well dizzle16 maybe it can help you..

Lol I need to clarify, I wouldn't have paid for a phone that only has 2 buttons working. Maybe I worded the thread wrong. The problem is that all 4 of the buttons at the bottom of the phone light up from time to time and the haptic feedback goes crazy where they just vibrate and stay lit for about 20 seconds and she said the screen goes crazy while it's happening but all 4 buttons at the bottom (menu, home, back and search) work

Really, send it back if you just got it. Fixes are for a phone that is past the warranty period. If I has just gotten my phone and it was messing up, it would be going right back and I would be getting a new one.
