Do you mount the sd card on the computer? Because if so apps moved to sd become unavailable to the phone, which I could imagine affecting this.
Also do you use a third party launcher app? It's the launcher which handles the app drawer, so different launchers would offer different options, but also a problem may be specific to that launcher.

yes i do mount the sd card when i need to transfer files...and i dont use 3rd party launcher apps...so i cant do anything abt it??

Interesting... I never use my app drawer. All my apps have a shortcut, either on a homescreen or in a folder. But, in my short experience with the stock launcher, that
I'd have expected them to return to order when you disconnected, but if not then that's a problem with the Samsung launcher. You could ask in the Galaxy Y forum to see whether anyone else has seen this or has a fix.
Otherwise a different launcher might have different properties.
I actually use launchers which let me put shortcuts in the dock, and stick my main apps in Folder Organiser folders in the dock. So I only enter the drawer for my less used apps, and so have never needed to reorganise it. There are always different ways of doing stuff in Android
