Root [Merit] can't get to recovery

zte screen comes up then boot animation for 4 to 5 seconds, then it reboots itself and does it all over again continuosly. have touchnav recovery but can't figure out the button combo to get there. can someone please help me.

Hello and welcome to the forums . I see your android device is in a bootloop . This combo may not fix this cause it sounds like your recovery didn't download to the device either cause of drivers or other .

Also what is the full make and model pf the device and carrier . Try this combo


1.) Power off the phone by removing the battery.

2.) Replace battery.

3.) Boot into recovery by holding Volume DOWN and power button until the android with the triangleappears.Thiswill appear AFTER the android that is by himself!! (about 30 seconds)

4.) Press the home button

5.) Navigate to the 3rd choice - " wipe data/factory reset". Select by pressing the menu button

6.) Navigate to YES and select by pressing the menu button.

7.) When the wipe is complete, navigate to and select - "reboot system", again with the menu button.

Using a ZTE merit/avail this should be the combo.

turn phone off all the way

see those three buttons at the bottom? we shall call them MENU/HOME/Back.


while the phone is off, hold down menu and Volume UP botton. then press the power button while holding those down.


you should be in recovery.

Thank you for your replies, my internet also died there for a few days days. So what i actually did was just plug un the phone and left it in the bootloop. After ab a week, it finally booted in but instantly went toforce close so i just kept tapping until it went to recovery. Not sure how it worked but it did thank god
