Root [Merit] fota folder in cache?

ive got folder in cache folder that is named 'fota' that started appearing a few days ago

does anyone know what this is for?

is this related to 'over the air' updates?

does Net10 have over the air updates?

if i delete it comes back but nothing in the folder

It didn't just appear, it's been there.

It's actually a "img" on the phone itself.

And we have no idea what it is for (that I can recall)

Force updates to your phone from the carrier. Virus in other words.

How is that a virus? They use it send baseband or version updates. Which could make your phone better or worse depending.

Don't accept if you are rooted.

Coincidentally, I noticed com.redbend sucking a ton of battery lately. They do updates so I was wondering if we would get one.

No he was right about f being firmware.

Viruses don't ask permission. Updates do.

I've never had one that I know of but it is my understanding that it doesn't ask permission.
