Root [Merit] Recovery for Zte z990g????

ok let me explain. I'm in desperate need of a full Nandroid stock recovery for my zte merit z990g. I was washing dishes when my daughter started screaming that she needed my help. Walked into the living room to find my phone tore all apart. Come to find out the bad little kids that I was watching had tore my phone apart. Still cant find my damn sd card that I had all my recovery files on, let alone any other important things I've stored on it.
Since then, Ive bought a new SD and am now trying to replace the files I had on it. So.....can anyone please provide me with a full nandroid stock recovery? I browsed trying to locate one, but can only find the straight talk version & Im not real sure that if it need to be used, if I would have to change Apn values or what. (You have to remember that Im still new to all of this) not to mention when I clicked the link, it said the file had beed removed.....so back to square one :(
Im off to find replacements for the rest of the things lost due to prying kids. Before I forget to ask......
Any idea how to clean out old unwanted & unneeded things from my systems INTERNAL MEMORY? Its damn near full & Im lost as to how Im to resolve the issue.
One more thing.....when the kids got my phone & attempted to destroy it, they managed to take the little metal clip off that holds my SD in place. I found the clip but cant get it to lock down. Any clue how to fix this? Please

Thank you all for being patient with me :)

Well, darlin', I hate to say it but it sounds like you might be very well, ehem; cough, cough, screwed. I hope someone else comes along with a better answer, but I rather doubt it.

Now please don't take this as a slight.

But I reckon I wouldn't leave my phone layin' 'round where the kids could ef it all up.

Much good luck to you, you're gonna need it.

Oh......dont say that! Lol no Im sure one of the guys here have some kind of recovery for it seeing as they make mods to theirs often. Just a matter of waiting to hear back from one of them and hoping that while doing so, I really dont fudge up my device and need to restore it. I've had major issues with it since I bought & activated it. (It got stuck in this reboot cycle, then really began going crazy) Thank goodness Out of Ideas and New Optimus came along to discuss the issues & help address them. I made a recovery before rooting, and installing custom roms, as well as stayboogys overclocked Kernel.....but it was on that sd card. Really destroyed my house trying to locate it yet nothing. Hope that lil turd didnt eat it. Finally got the metal clip to lock back down (helped that I turned it the right way) but still trying to locate a recovery.

I learned last year with my LG touchscreen not to carry it in my back pocket (busted the screen all to heck while trying to corral the horses & fell backwards on my rear) My kids know not to touch my phone....however they are 8 and 6.....its been some time since I've had a 1 year old and 3 year old around....forgot how they tend to get things they arent suppose to touch. Hence, lesson learned. Ah, but yes, thank you for bringing a smile to my other wise effed up day. I needed it. I know you didnt mean any offence by your post. Sometimes as adults we need to have a friendly reminder & thats just what you did.....reminded me that little snots happen to touch what they arent suppose to :(

The other hard part with someone providing you a Nandroid backup is that it would have to done after a factory reset otherwise all their contacts, apps, texts, i.e. personal info would be in it.

good luck to ya!

Do you have the touchnav installed or CWM?

I think that the straight talk backup was probably CWM. If you have CWM, then it should work fine, as they are both actualy tracfones and use att, but we could play with the apn settings if you needed it.

If you got Touchnav, you need a touchnav style backup I'm thinking. I don't know if anyone made one of those. If i get some time later today I might try to set you up with one.

My kid did some damage to my backup phone, so I know how that can be. lol.

Thank you for listening to me vent lol as well for the good luck seeing as I seem to need it! Next time the phones getting put ontop the dresser in my room so little destructors cant destroy it. Lol

Seems my luck has turned about. Received a reply on the stock recovery. (thank you Out of Ideas)

Actually I installed the TouchNav then your rooted merit zip. A few days later, I installed the blue steel rom and stayboogys overclocked kernel.
When I noticed the issues I tried to boot into recovery and take it I slipped up and factory restored it or something because the blue steel wasnt there anymore but the kernel is still there. I know its malfunction is result of my error.......but Im not sure what I did wrong exactly. I followed each direction to the letter. After a few days of stressing out over it, I decided to stop searching for a minute and take a break by watching a girlfriends little one. Turned my back for just a few minutes and then they sturck.
I found the sd.....but its been wiped clean so yea, I panicked lol

Thank you hun for helping me once more. I knew someone reading has experienced phone destruction by a toddler and could relate.....just was praying someone could assist with a recovery and advice on the music player & internal error when I try viewing web pages alot of the times.

I'm so glad you seen this post though! Again thank you! :)
