stayboogey, what is the "power button toggle display after 3 full scrolls" feature? I'm not sure i understand... I'm using your recovery with my kernel and rom and couldn't be happier with it.. if everything is working fine, is there any reason to upgrade, aside from the new features?

if you are satisfied with the previous version, then by all means use it.

but this one does have fixes for sd-ext bugs that users reported, even though I could not always duplicate their problems.

sd-ext partitions are now hardcoded by location and to be mounted on recovery boot (doesn't matter if one is not using an sd-ext partition).

and the toggle display means you can turn the screen on and off with the power button after you scroll the menu three times. this is for devs who might stay in recovery for quite a while working on things, like i do from time to time

plus, tar backups are easier to extract and view than yaffs2 images, especially for windows users. i prefer the tar over yaffs2, and have for some time. just decided to make this available for the masses as using the flag in default.prop would not work before because it's a yaffs2 file system on the nand of these phones.

Hello. First of all I'd like to commend you on all your time and hard work on the Roms and TouchNav. Great work!!! I am just wondering which is the most updated download? The one linked in this thread or this one http://androidforums.com/merit-all-...y-utility-touchnav-v-1-3-recovery-system.html ? Also I undestand the difference between ext and vfat, I just don't understand which one to exactly use because I don't know if that means to preformat the sd-card as such or if it has to deal with more with the workings on the phone. eg...Is it how i use it on my PC or is that just how it formats on the phone??? I hope you understand my logic behind this. An explanation would be appreciated!

this one is the updated one

choose either yaffs2 or tar version

as mentioned in the first post, vfat is for sdcard extended partitions that are fat/fat32, it has nothing to do with the phone file system format; and ext is for sdcard extended partitions that are formatted ext2/3.

if you don't have an sdcard extended partition (ie. sd-ext) it doesn't matter and either will work for you.

Thank you for the prompt reply! That summed it up for me. That's what I was thinking but sometimes I tend to over-think things and confused myself lol!
