wifi tethering means you can use your phones as a wifi router W/ 3g connection speed. just need to creat an adhoc connection.

Just in case you were wondering, the higher the number, the better the signal.

And since we're talking about negative numbers here, -73dB is a better signal than -89dB, by a lot, actually.
 
Is this app compatible for mac because when i tried it the words coding got all scrambled and couldn't download, or is it really just made for PC's

I copied the PDANET and USB driver files to my SD card...that way if I want to tether from a different PC I have the necessary files to set up PDNET and can install USB drivers so I can charge the phone as well. :)

I've been tethering here and there a bit and so far no extra charges listed in my data section on verizon.com. I just use it to view forums and pay bills, nothing like youtube or high data intensive surfing. I used to tether my blackberry and share the connection making an adhoc network at my job and then my co-workers could connect their deviced and use my connection. I just made sure I stayed below the 5gb cap when tethering.

Just to clarify I was using my berry. I have not been sharing with PDAnet and not sure if you can. With the berry you just usb tether and use windows to set up an adhoc network and part of the setup process ask if you want to share the connection and takes care of it for you.

Orrrrrr..... someone can get WiFi tethering to work (like PDANet for iPhone) and you wouldn't have to worry about the OS at all....

Keep us updated on the Verizon charges. It took my Company Phone carrier (AT&T) a month and a half to apply the charges when I was using my work phone as modem (work related emails). $1k for 1000mb.
 
I have been trying to get PDANET to work on my droid/mac via usb since the update. I have them installed on both my macbook pro and droid and when I try to connect via usb to tether, it always says 'phone not attached' when clearly it is, because I use my usb cord like everyday to mount. I don't know what the deal is... is anyone else having this problem? I am running leopard 10.5.8 and android 2.0.1. I am usually sort of tech savy, but this one has me stumped.

So with all the VZW advertisements here it is obvious they are buddy buddy with them, all this talk of tethering might catch someone's eye if they happen to work for VZW. Be careful, don't wanna get a $1,395.43 bill around the holidays.

does anyone know how to setup bluetooth DUN on the mac?
im confused as to how to set up bluetooth connection. i tried to google simply bluetooth dun setup but im not sure how to set up in the advance/phonenumber/account/pw etc.. in th emac bluetooth

Don't forget to turn on USB Debugging in the Applications settings in the Droid's Settings control panel.
 
hm, i have that enabled cause i did get cable tethering to work.

so i tried to do, pair via bluetooth (mac) and then run pdanet and then enable bluetooth.. then go to network setting, click plus sign (bluetooth DUN) and then put in some random number (#777) and then connect...

but that doesnt work, so any help would be great.. thanks!
