message alert madness

[Android Question]

I have a HTC Desire X and want to use my own message alert tone. I have done it with the ringtone without any trouble but the message alert tone is another matter. It is driving me mad
! I need step by step instructions. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I think you will find the notification folder here. Phone\system\media\audio\notifications.
The file bits are .mp3 format. You will want to place the file bit you are wanting to use in that folder and it should then show up as an option to use. I hope this helps.
