Help Message Counter

The LG Connect comes with a message counter under the text message seetings. I didn't know this until just now.

For some reason the overall "sent/received" counter is way off. Here's my count:

SMS Sent: 10,214
SMS Received: 10,225
MMS Sent: 26
MMS Received: 14
Total messages Sent/Received: 151

It appears the counter is resetting periodically for the total message counter. I'd like to know if this is the case and how I can turn the resetting option off.

It looks like it's counting characters. I'm going to go check, I don't use stock messenger so I haven't looked.

Ok, do you have a limit set on messages & then to delete after they reach that number? Mine say :
Sms sent 3
Received 415
Mms sent 5
Received 10
Total 177
I'm a texting fool too. I don't know why my received is so high & my sent isn't. I run a history eraser often & it cleans out my messages. I lock anything I want to save.

No I don't have the "delete old messages" feature on. It's only suppose to delete messages if I delete them. And I do clean my inbox frequently. But even when I don't the count resets. It just reset again today. I have a total sent/received count of 10. wtf?

When you open the counter page, if you hit menu, an option to clear message counters is available. Push this & everything goes back to 0 except the total.
