Message name screwy

When my wife texts me, only her 7 digit phone number shows in the text menu, even tho she is in my contacts. Everyone else who texts me, and is in my contacts, shows up with their name. My wife's contact is listed identical to every one. To fix this, I added her number again to her contacts page, but only her last 7 digits with no spaces. Now her name shows up correctly, and when I call her, the 7 digit number doesn't show up, only the 10 digit number.

Try deleting your wife all together from your contacts, then re add her.

I tried deleting her, then adding her back in... no good.
I tried deleting her, then adding her back in after she texted me. That seemed to work because it doesn't have the area code on her number, just 7 digits with no spaces will work. I guess it's a work around.

Sign into your gmail account on your PC. Then click on the Gmail logo in the upper left just below the Google logo. A drop down list will appear, select contacts. At the top of the list, click on the "more" button and in that drop down list select find and merge duplicates. Give it a little while for the sync to happen on your phone. That _might_ fix it, it has fixed some wonky contact issues for me in the past.

Failing that, try deleting her, do a factory data reset and then after you've signed back into google and the rest of your contacts sync, add her back.
