Help Message not sent?!? Really!

Apparently I accidentally started a message - I put in no message and no "to". Now I have a "New Message" indicator on my lock screen and a "Message not sent" indicator in my Notification area. When I clear it, it will return in a short period of time. (I can send and receive text messages just fine.) I cannot get the notification to go away! It's like a flag is flipped and won't flip back.
Any ideas how to make it stop?

Things I've tried:

- Rebooted phone.
- Selected "Discard" from menu.
- Sent a message to myself.
- Sent a message to my wife.
- Went into System Settings Apps for Messaging and Force Stopped and Cleared Data.
