message tone ? gone awol

have tried changing the notifaction/message tone but for some reason i cant change it , have tried changing using htc software on phone and zedge but how ever i try i still it uses the same tone i have had for a few weeks ? this is doing my head , love my hero and the way you can make personalize ! aarrrrrgggghhhhhh

Connect your phone to a pc via the mount option. In your SD card add a folder called 'media'. in the media folder add an 'audio' folder in the audio folder add 'notifications', 'alarms' and 'ringtones'.

Add your:-
own ringtones into the ringtones folder
own message tones into the notifications folder
own alarms in the alarms folder

Use MP3s. 'Unmount' your sd card and switch the phone off and on, your tones will appear in the default menus. happy ringing

HAve download onto phone with zedge , long pressed to change notification but tone sounds same

Try without using Zedge and do what Griever suggested, it does work.
