messages does not enter new SMS at once

I use a LG G2, but the issue is the same with Sony Xperia Z1, and probably a lot of other phones. (Since these two are the battleships of both brands)

I tried to let Google Hangouts handle my messages but the issue is the same here.

I exit the stock messages app with the home button.
When I later get a new message and press the messages button, it opens the previous message again.
There's no point in that, I have already read it, I opened messages because I want to read the new message!
So then I have to go back, worst cases also scroll up, and enter the new message.
Three unnecessary steps f***ing every time.

Anybody have a fix? Rooted or not.

I use a LG G2 (rooted). Says in my profile, but I can add it to the thread =)

My carrier is One Call, but I don't think this interfere with the stock Messages app.

It's basically, don't use the home button to exit the messages app. Pressing the home button isn't "exiting" an app. It's putting it in the background while keeping the last thing you were doing on the front for you to get back to it. Basically, pressing the home button tells the messaging app "I'll do something else first, don't do anything, I want to get back where I left off", so on opening the app, you see where you left off, which is the last message you read. This is standard Android behavior. You'll see this on all phones. Fix is, don't use home button, use back.

Ok, then, let me phrase it differently then:
I want the messages app to automatically open new messages when I get one.

Ok then, let me rephrase my answer as well. Don't use home button, use back button. I already gave you the answer. If you use home button to get out of the messaging app after you use it, it will open to whatever you were doing last in it. If you use the back button to exit it, when you receive a new message and open it from the notification bar, it will open the new message right away.

Yeah, I knew I could have used the back button, but it wasn't what I asked for. :P

I didn't know it would open the new message if it wasn't in an older message though.
Guess I have to spare a couple of extra back presses when exiting messages then... =)
