messaging app

Sorry was feeding children .

Anyway my husband and I use wattsapp to message each other . He works in a remote location so has no access to wifi. So I need a messaging app that doesnt use alot of data usage (mb) or battery as when he uses wattsapp it seems to eat battery charge. Both him and I have a HTC . Hope thats a better explanation.

Are we talking about SMS messages? The default client shouldn't use any data. SMS messages are sent independently of data networks.

Sorry, I'm not really familiar with that service. Have you tried any of the other messaging services like Yahoo or MSN? You might even be able to you gtalk. The problem as i see it is that it has to keep polling to keep the messages moving, which is going to shorten battery life
