Messaging has stopped

HELP!

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and for some reason the Messaging has just stopped working?

A software update ran on the phone this morning however I have sent and received message since then. Now nothing! I cannot even access the application.

I have tried shut down, remove battery, hit power button and nothing. I have tried clearing all the Cache, I have force stopped the app, cleared the data and restarted - nothing!

I will try re-running the updte via Kies tonight but any other suggestions in the meantime?? Only other advice I have been given is a factory reset which I'd rather avoid but....

Try installing Go SMS Pro or some other messaging app and see if it still is a problem. Other than that, I'm lost...sorry.
