so when I had stock froyo on my op v I could send a big message. about a paragraph. now that I have BACKside the limit went to like a quarter of a paragraph. it doesn't really bother me I was just wondering if I could change it without having to use dumb free sms apps.

edit: I figured it out.

Could you post what you did so others that have the same problem don't have to start a new thread.:)

sure! no problem. alright. in the main messaging area that shows all your messaging threads with all the different people you've been texting. hit your menu button, a little window should pop up with a bunch of commands. tap settings, then it should have took you to a window where you change your settings. the setting is message split. I just turned it off. and you can change a bunch of other useful stuff like vibration settings that I couldn't figure out for the longest time. there ya go! :)
