Help messaging

sorry if this has been posted before, have searched site and cannot find the answer i was looking for. I am of the older generation and have just been given a samsung galaxy 3 (gt-i5800), my question is can i turn of the bubble style messaging and have just plain old fashioned text. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

You might have better luck in a forum specific to that model if you're using the stock messaging app. As a rule of thumb, the setting will be in the messaging app if it's available in the app. Can you clarify exactly what you mean by "plain old fashioned text"? Most messaging apps are threaded. Are you referring to just the bubble look or threading as well?

Nope, you are going to have to download another app for that. I heard hand scent is nice, but I think it uses the same bubble style.

Threaded is the standard now, but in hndcent you can turn off the bubbles and have a threaded conversation where the texts are in rectangles

thank you people for you replies, i have an app on my phone called mobilmessage, does anyone have any idea if this is a basic message system.

Try Go SMS Pro, you can slide the conversations window to the left and it'll show you your inbox/sent/drafts style. So it's not a bubble/threaded style anymore.
