Is there a way to set up a shortcut for frequent texting some contacts?

I'm on nova launcher but it should be similiar on most launchers.

Long press your homescreen, shortcuts, direct message, and choose a contact

Any knowledge regarding how to message groups that I have set up? I tried going to group and pressing menu to no avail. Also when I get texts from others in the group I am unable to respond to all just to individuals. Also for some reason I am unable to see mms messages (typically just text) from individuals with iPhone 5. Once in a while it will provide a download button beside the message...I press it and it says downloading but nothing appears even if I back out of the msg screen and go back in. Help pls!

I believe the groups in contacts are how you organize your contacts, not for group chat. Never really messed around with it.

As for the mms, I get that randomly, others have said it happens when you have poor signal.
