Root Messed up again

Well, I done it again. While trying to flash H-K audio, I messed up, I should of known better:mad:. It is stuck at the white boot logo. I still have TWRP 2.8.6.0. Is says no OS installed. Please advise. When I get this straightened out I'm NOT going to touch it again, especially when I know nothing about, except for adding apps.

Remind me you are s-off aren't you?

H-K mod is for Sense based roms only, did you try and flash it on a non-Sense rom?

What carrier are you on, as can't remember if there's something else you need to flash if you're on Verizon.

Otherwise, just restore your backup via TWRP - you did do a nandroid backup in TWRP before flashing this didn't you [emoji6] ?

Yes I'm S-Off, on Sense 6.0 and on AT&T. I did a backup but can not access TWRP. I can access the bootloader but any other actions tack me back to the boot screen. I contacted HTC by email, waiting for a reply to send it back to be repaired. Thanks any way.

I can not get in recovery, it just reboots back to the boot screen, then to a screen with a red triangle with an exclamation mark in it.

Ah, sorry didn't pick this up as you being in a bootloop. If you press and hold power + vol up to force a restart, then press and hold vol down once screen goes black, phone will boot to bootloader.

This will be HBOOT if memory serves, so select FASTBOOT from the menu using vol down, and press power to select. This will take you to fastboot do you can connect to PC and try getting TWRP sorted.

O.K. I am in TRWP. Now what? If I go to reboot(any of the four), it says no OS installed. If I go to restore there is nothing there. What do I do?

No sweat, where did you save your back to i.e. was it to internal storage or micro sd card? In restore menu in TWRP there is a line of text that if you press it allows you to select storage - it'll say some thing like Internal Storage if you reflashed. Just set it to where you saved your original backup.

If you can't find it we'll just have to download another rom to install from TWRP.

Well, at the bootloader screen, I crossed my fingers and ran a M8 4.28.502.1 RUU. Now I am going thru setup. So far it is working.:D Thanks again.

No problem, at least running the RUU will get you back to stock firmware as well (the H-K mod changes the adsp image).

Glad you're up and running again. That's the beauty of s-off, you can pretty much sort everything [emoji1]

Yea, I could not remember where I saved the backup so like I said, I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. Now I get to reinstall all of my apps.

Get Titanium Backup - pro version recommend if you intend flashing a lot as it unlocks batch restore plus other stuff. Saves a lot of time and effort.
