I was just settling in to bed, getting ready to watch some Hulu on my computer (and using a little remote control app I had just installed on my Indulge
) and I look up at my notification bar and lo and behold! A little 4G icon!

I am located in Holiday, which is just north of Pinellas county. I had spoken to a rep here at my local store just a few days ago and he said that the 4G would only be built out in Pinellas and Tampa initially, and that the outlying areas (like Pasco, where I live) would not be added on until later. Well, I am very pleased to report that he was wrong.
First speed tests showing 1300-1400 kbps down and 1100-1200 up, here in my area. That may not sound world breaking, but believe me, to someone who is used to 1X RTT speeds (which are like dialup) I am tickled to death! I will continue to do more testing around the area over the coming days and report back on speeds if anyone is interested.
Well, I had been hearing April 1 for a while now, so I guess that was true! Here in the Tampa area, we were literally the last of Metro's markets to get 4G, but now we gots it! W00t!
