Highly recommend not to update.
I restored to factory afterwards and battery life is awful along with all the bright screens.

Looking into rooting now and or going back to 4.4. Hard without a computer.
4 hrs drained my battery from 100 to 20 with power saving mode on.

Sadly my s2 is too slow to switch back to lol

Hello and welcome to Android Forums Ddkh :)

A Full Wipe+Factory Data Reset, as per #2.3, #2.4 and #2.5 of S5 Lollipop Update Problems - Dummies Guide, is usually recommended, particularly if you have previously moved any apps to the external SD card, prior to updating.

Lol thanks I did all that. Wipe cache 3 x etc. I have not even logged into Google or installed a app. 10 minutes from 100 I'm down to 96. It's draining fast. I'm trying all the guide says. But kills my eyes looking at bright white everywhere.

Thanks for the welcome. I couldn't remember my old login info. Been a while. Now 1% lost typing lol

Not talking about a partition cache wipe but a Full Wipe+FDR as per the guide.

I've wiped cache, data and factory restored. Through power home and volume key. I'm trying the battery calibrate but feel it will remain the same.
If I'm missing 1 I blame it on all the white that's killing my eyes.
I regret updating lol. 40 minutes and 14% used. The best it's done sofar.

Will rego through the guide later and check over it all. Make sure I'm not missing anything.

OK currently installing more apps slowly to see if they are causing it.

I had to calibrate the battery 3x yesterday to get it to last for 10hrs until dead. With light usage.

Next is the annoying colors which I guess needs a new rom.

So if anyone is having a battery drain issue I suggest calibration sadly possibly take more then 1x.
Still think there is a issue with lollipop not addressing things properly as I had the drain issue even fully stock following the guide above.

Attached image is what is also driving me nuts lol

Sorry had to up date jus to see it for myself lol. I did everything the dummies guide said to do after the update step by step...
Battery life is a little worse but not as bad as yours (and i use my phone a lot especially for gaming) ... one thing I can say I noticed is the way 5.1 handles Ram.. it has gotten a lot worse... as soon as I start to open up a couple of apps my phone starts to run really slow... I find my self clearing ram every time I pick up my phone to use it witch is really annoying lol hopefully there's a fix for this in android M.. hopefully it comes to metro...

Hopefully the fix it. Ya I finally got my battery to last almost all day and slowly added apps. Sadly forget what all I had now haha.

Lost about 4hrs of the day of heavier usage mainly browsing.
The white on everything blinds me.
Also totally agree about the ram usage issue.
I restart daily now instead of every 2 weeks. Helps slightly but keyboard takes forever to load and sometimes pages freeze when scrolling etc.

I still miss kitkat cause it was smoother. I know they had to have messed something up.

Oh ya additional issue is poorer network signal. Needs a update for the radio.

Jus got another update from metro about 390 MB and it's save to say it seems like they fixed all the bug issue... after doing thw install and factory reset, my phone runs a lot smother and the ram issue Is also 100 time better... also battery life is on another level... I take my phone off the charger at 7am for work and make it home at 630 with 53% left... (my phone is in a locker during work were it's constantly seaching for lte signal and GPS is also on... I also have an hour lunch an the whole hour I'm playing madden NFL mobile lol an I use my phone during my mini breaks...) o an haven't used ultra power saving since the update... so far it's been a week and I'm lovin it... hopefully it last

For me it's been a bad memory issue since the latest update.

Will end up restoring etc soon.
Tired of clearing everything and restarting every couple hours
