Another possibility:i was able to get to talk to an agent on the website through chat:
sounds to me like its definitely on by default
Sir, kindly check your plan n contact CS as needed. Contrary to released statements, users are reporting needing to manually switch in order to receive the extra data allotment.i am on the $40 plan.
i currently only get 500Mbs of high speed data for a BYOD on this plan. My question is..since they are giving us an extra GB...will i get more then 500 MBs of high speed data or will it stay the same.
Thanks. At which site should í check my connection? It's on by default. I woke up around 5 in the morning at the 19th and it was definitely on by default. All my videos was on 480p.
HD videos look fine...BUT......
The more í think about this the more í agree with most:
things LOOK set up like compression is MEANT TO BE ON by default- If not now then eventually- and everyone then needs to disable if they don't want...
...making things either sneaky or incompetent....
But then again there's a button to enable/disable at will...
Billy: I'm going to add the feature called Data Maximizer Disabled that will disable it
according to the metropcs online support i spoke to:What about that free music... I don't get? I have apple music .. is it free now?
Billy: Right, the price will be the same, the migration will be automatic but since we have so many customer, it's done gradually, no worries though, I was able to change it for you!
Valued Guest: so does that mean i have the music unlimited service added now as well?
Billy: Yep, that's correct too!! Pretty awesome I'd say!
according to the metropcs online support i spoke to:
THAT was the main reason for my last post...trust that way more than what India CS told me.but did you see what this online tech support guy said?
he had to add a feature called "data maximizer disabled" in order to disable it...i mean wtf? why would you have to add a feature to disable it? why cant it just be disabled?
Yah, I've received text on my tmo line pretty much saying this...And agree with your therefore conclusion.Everything T-Mobile has said about Optimization, is it will be on by default - all accounts.
Im sure Metro has to have the same rule as per T-Mobile.
I think the website page to make the changes needs to iron out kinks.Hi everybody need help. Went into my metro app and services I tapped on data maximizer it said off. Now it just sits on the home page as data maximizer off - whatever that means. I went to the website it said I have to update my profile to change anything, so I put in my pin and tap upgrade and it does nothing. I called what they call customer service. They said my data maximizer is off supposedly. Now I'm confused and frustrated with all of this. Any help would be appreciated . Thank you.
Anthony.
If that is true then I can't turn off mine. It just says off with an arrow and no other options on it. I'm confused. When u go to select the feature it says data maximizer off as in turn it off. It's on by default.

So you should be able to click that arrow(I did from within My Metro app that is), causing that service to be added( after prompting for pin, etc.).If that is true then I can't turn off mine. It just says off with an arrow and no other options on it. I'm confused.

So I did all of that and this is where I'm at is the correct for it to be off/disabled? Added screen shot.So you should be able to click that arrow(I did from within My Metro app that is), causing that service to be added( after prompting for pin, etc.).
If you then close tab or app and log back in to your account, you will see a new entry under Services: Data Maximizer OFF.
