Metro PCS worth it?

It depends on a lot of factors: how is the coverage in your area? Can you live with the phones that are available? Do you want 3G or 4G LTE coverage (which comes back to the coverage in your area)?

Metro's LTE is good in some places and not so good in others; it all depends on the spectrum that they have available in the area and I'm not at all familiar with what's what. I have seen people posting good speed tests in the Dallas area, since that is where I'm at that is what I pay attention to. The 3G is pretty decent here in the Dallas area as well.

I think that I've read some other posts saying that VM's 3G coverage and speeds are a lot better than what MetroPCS has.

Basically, Metro is great for my wife and I; we live in the Dallas area and have great coverage and 3G speeds (don't have an LTE phone yet). I love the truly unlimited data, talk and text. I have no caps and my wife and I are only paying $45/phone/month.

Hope this helps ya.

I recently switched from vm to metro and I couldn't be happier. Vm coverage/speed in my area were horrendous, little to no coverage at my place of work... Totally different story with metro, I get full bars 4g where I work and at home.

Very happy with metro service.

research the coverage for both carriers in your area.

look at the selection of phones for both carriers.

good luck with your research.

I'm already on VM using the Evo v, just wondering if metro PCS is better

find out the quality of metro's coverage in your area and look at their phone selection and see how it stacks up against what you have.

good luck with your research.

I never leave a metro area so I have great coverage and I have the new metro $30 per month promotional plan that gives me unlimited talk, text, 3 way calling, caller ID, picture messaging, enhanced voice mail and 250mb data at 4G speeds, which I have no problem with. I couldn't be happier :D

Depending on your area and its coverage it could be worth it. Also depends on what your going for. Aside from Metro you also have Tmobile and Sraight Talk from which you can buy whatever GSM phone you want and hop on one of their plans that range around the same prices as metro and generally have much faster 4G speeds.

But it all depends on your area and what you are going for and what you want to spend.

I hope I'm not being the master of the obvious here but with so many who order phones from on-line Vs in person...

There's bunches of Metro stores around. Before I'd trust their coverage map I'd go to the closest store to your home/work/where you'll use the phone the most and actually play with one in the store. In my case there's a store about 1.5 miles from here. I think I can reasonably expect about the same service there as my place. Go see how good the speeds and call strength actually ARE at a store as near as you can get to you.

That's how I do it anyway.
