Do I need it?

It only saves contacts right? So I can save a vcard every now and then of my contacts and it will be all the same.

-or-

Doesn't Google store everything on their server? Once you sign in doesn't it load all contacts from Google?

I had MetroBackup on a non android phone and it was a real finger saver but there seems to be other options that I feel are better.

What do you think?

if you already have contacts in the phone just sync them with google and stop paying for metro backup
