Metropcs 4g 250mb data usage

I have a technical question. I have the 250 MB 4G plan. But after about 10 days, the 250 MB are used and my phone goes to 3G. I'd like to know how I can last for more days with 4G. I have 3 applications that are running as services all the time, it is: "the weather channel", facebook and eBay. Does having these application connected to Internet all the times use a lot of the first 250 MB ? If I uninstall them, would I see a noticeable change in 4G data usage ? I already avoid uploading pictures on Facebook using 4G, unless I'm connected to WIFI.

You could also do 3G only when your not doing anything or when your not doing anything that's needs a lot of speed.

I followed your instructions but it didn't work for me. I have a LG Esteem with MetroPCS. When I click on the application, I see the "Mobile network settings" only.

It seems like you can sneeze and run outta data on that plan

I was thinking about changing my old $50/1GB plan today to the $40/250MB plan. Can anyone explain to me why the $40/month plan cost $44? Is there a one-time $4 charge added?

It's supposed to be straight up $40(taxes /fees included)
Check out your account on the website-may tell you what the $4 is for.

getting sub 1mbps data speeds is bad even in 3g standards. its not gonna get better either.

but if you can live with it...

I had root metrics doing a test for about 3 hours on 3G and I got an average download of 1.4Mbps and upload of 209 Kbps.

This is why Im thankful I was grandfathered in on my 4G $40 dollar plan. My usage meter never moves.

You can download a data usage app from market to track and find out what is using what. There are some good ones but I dont know names. I've only heard about them, never actually used one.
