at least as far as they will ever be..
just went and checked for an update for my CDMA S3...notta.
metro wants people to get rid of their CDMA phones, not keep them. i'll, however, be holding on to my CDMA S3 until the bitter end. they make a new and better phone very 3-4 months so there will be something awesome for me to upgrade to when the time comes.

I have a question/theory on how we can get a taste of 4.3 tw.. im posting this idea publicly incase anyone can point out a reason why this wont work or just any opinions at all...
so from what I have gathered.. it isss possible to port gsm roms to cdma devices with some extended 'modding' required.. and our gsm variant has the 4.3 update available, annnd uscc has the cdma version available... sooo if using those 2 bases for the rom port process something could come out of it correct?
my main downfall in all of this is I am a n00b with kernels.. not sure if this will affect anything for this specifically, but just throwing that out there haha
please anyone with thoughts/ideas or useful info based on this idea leave some feedback below

I have managed to flash 4.3 for Verizon/virgin mobile/ t mobile boot just fine with dkp 4.3 kernel. only problem is no 4g i can get 3g tho so I'm thinking maybe has something to do with the modem

hmmm dam haha modems is nother one of my weak points.. maybe shabby can lend a thought? lol.. I figured if we use the tmobile/metro gsm version as base than do some extensive file editing etc.. maybe we will have better chances.. I have to work today but later onight I will try messing with some shit to test and use the kernel you mentioned above hopefully we can get something

pretty certain thats the same guy who claimed he got it ages ago, and no kernel source posted on samsungs website.

amazing on how the same #&*@*#(@*#'s who got the update know about root yet refuse to to dump images for everyone else... so im calling BS on this, i think metro has put a pin in the d2mtr and caleld it a day, we should have seen an update by now from the d2usc stuff. our update is almost teh same as theirs and they have had one.

Well wasn't Metropolis rom based off USC S3 at first? So couldn't just do the same and then remove all the bloatware and release it?

the difference is with 4.3 there is bootloader nonsense, ldrifta grabbed one of their 4.3 roms and all it does is bootloop. he doesnt have usb working so he cant get any logs for it either.

I have had it since Nov. 20 1013 on my white CDMA Samsung Galaxy SIII - I posted a screen shot above.
I don't know why the update was so limited.

A screenshot is very easy to fake. a simple build prop edit with rom toolbox and anybody with an s3 could post a screenshot just like this. this does not prove anything.

So MetroPCS sent out 1 update, just to you huh? Convenient that you won't send a system dump. OH wait, then you will say " Uhh, I don't know how". Someone will explain it then you, then you will say you tried it and "Damn now my phone is in a boot loop, I hate you Android Forum guys, you messed up my one-of-a-kind phone!!!". You can just hold on to those screen shots there slick, no one gives a $h!t because we all know it's crap.

alright guys lets keep our cool. seeing as it still isnt posted on samsungs opensource site i decided to message them to find out the truth behind all this. per gpl they are legally required to provide source for any form of the Linux kernel they put out publicly. an ota to 1 person or 5 million counts as public.
in the mean time we should avoid ripping each others throats out, should sam wish to back his claims up and provide files i would hope he would have quite teh opposite reaction from everyone and people would be singing his praises.
