Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] 4.3 Available

Been rooted, with no Knox issues what's so ever everything was working perfectly fine..back up and everything..so I flashed a ported camera, didn't work :mad:, restore everything works. Then remove some apps, notice my power button wasn't turning off the screen.:confused: keep pressing it no go, hold it down menu options pop up..

day dreaming is off, set it to turn off in 15sec, 30, 1min..still not working..so restore the perfect copy before any change was done same issue..check everything again plug or unplug, option for phone to stay on while charging is off. not sure what it could be..Anyway used Odin again flashed 4.3 everything is back to normal again power button works, rooted...:confused:
 
For Whom ever needs help rooting this is what helped me

Odin portable for you're PC

1:Download and extract some where on you're desktop..https://www.dropbox.com/s/g6glu67xcbk3z08/Odin3-v3.04.rar

Open it click on PDA look for the twrp-2.6.3.1-d2mtr.tar click start. if done right it'll say pass

2: place this somewhere on you're PC to flash via Odin https://www.dropbox.com/s/1o8vkwpwsotrzrl/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.1-d2mtr.tar

3:place this on you're on SD card(if you don't have a card reader make sure this is on you're card before hand) https://www.dropbox.com/s/e982hl779qaapqw/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.80.zip

4:https://www.dropbox.com/s/238pppei1u7ix3j/root.zip <<extract to you're PC or phone..place the extracted file to you're SD card

once you're in recovery flash the superSU, Flash Busybox,flash knox app remover..what's what did it for me..good luck if you don't understand then don't bother :p
 
flashed the CF-auto root and then download super SU 1.91 fromt he play store and everything works fine.

have to say, there's some stuff that 4.3 is supposed to have that touchwiz has broken. the lockscreen widget don't work like they should, the lock screen shortcut ring is gone, and the slide camera from lockscreen is gone as well as the motion feature for camera.

i guess i now understand why people hate touchwiz.
 
hope to have a flashable build up later today, i dont know what caused the bootloops so im gunna upload 2 versions, one deodex'd stock, the other tweaked and hope that i can get root working well enough, as well as getting it booting :).
 
The Knox remover didn't work for me... I had to go in and remove it all manually.
Strange... it works for some, but not for others.

Shabby, I can't wait to have a flashable version of this ROM... it'll give me a chance to play with it without Odin.
Let the experiments begin!

Did you perform a factory reset before rooting your phone? I removed everything on my phone, data wise, and was able to get the SuperSU Knox remover to work for me. I'm thinking it has to do with the previous state of the phone. If you did perform a clean wipe of the phone before rooting it, then this point is moot haha.

Yep! It's a moot point alright. lol

I rarely do dirty flashes anymore these days... factory reset, and then wipe dalvik, cache, etc.
(that is, unless I'm simply repairing a ROM)

What was weird is - I did it a second time, and everything was fine.

It's sorta like pounding your head against a wall - if you keep doing it long enough, something eventually cracks. lol

Last night, I wanted a different camera too (Note 2 with Gallery), and replicated your results... so it wasn't just a fluke on your phone's part.
I had a similar one working just fine prior to that, but I just had to go mucking with it... lol
 
bleh, thats rather discouraging

so at least ive got it booting, now we get to play russian roulette and try to figure out what partition is needed for modems to work properly :/

edit: did you do the 4.3 ota? or are you 4.1.2/4.3 hybrid with the modem waiting on rom?

ALMOST the same result here;

While booting, it said "Unfortunately, Smartcard Manager has stopped", but it continued to load anyway.

WiFi wouldn't connect, so that was skipped... after booting, no signal - but when I went to Settings>More>About Device>Status... it would FC, saying "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped", so I wasn't able to see if my IMEI, etc. was still there.

:confused: :(

~Edit~ Screen won't turn off on mine either... even after restoring my backups. (which I've done several times so far, with success)
I'm at a loss with this rom... 4.3 is an alien! lol

I did the 4.3 tar thru odin u posted.
 
I made a backup of my current 4.3 rom because I was messing around with it and I went back to restore it after I did i didn't have any reception and baseband said unknown so I use mobile odin to flash the latest modem and it worked not sure if it's something you would like to know
 
Another result from trying a different camera, which I had been used to using on my other ROMs - not only did my camera not work after rebooting, I lost root.
A restore didn't fix the problem - no matter what ROM I tried to restore, or how many times I made the attempt.
I tried to reflash this ROM using Odin as well, but to no avail... finally, after several Factory Resets, it finally worked in Odin - working camera and all.

I've never seen a ROM act like this... any ideas as to the cause??
 
Not sure what could be the problem with the camera. But after i odin 4.3 I made sure I got rid of all the knox stuff and even flash a different kernel that sets the se status for Android to permissive.
