Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Battery drained to single digit now won't charge

I plug the phone in says that its charging the battery but the percent goes down instead of up and the led stays red til the phone shuts off.

Your cable might be bad and alot of samsung cables are no good, but make sure you use wall charger instead of charging it from the pc.

Nope didn't work. When I plugged in a different cable it was at 66% when I checked a few min later it was at 65% so the phone says its charging the battery, but the battery is still discharging instead of recharging.

Try to charge the phone, on standby or shut off, on the PC's USB port.
If the phone get charged your wall charger would be defect.

its done that to me on a asop rom cant remember which also if you use your phone while charging it still consumes power. if your not on stock switch back to stock just to make sure your phone is working fine,if it does indeed charge correctly then the issue is a rom bug. if it still discharges then houston we have a problem!

Flashed back to stock, still same problem. I think the circuit board on the battery is shot from overheat.

I had this on my admire once, too. It'd stay on 1% and never go up, a new battery never helped, nor did flashing back to stock. Eventually, it got worse, as my USB Can't even detect that old admire i have laying around.

The charge connect thing at the bottom of your phone is broken, get a replacement, unfortunately. :/

You can get a wallcharger that charges one battery at a time, but that would be really annoying.

dude same thing happened to me :/ i just use the wall battery charge thing its not that annoying i find it more convenient.(3 different batteries).

Had to deal with that with my code the charging port broke. Had to get a cradle and an extra battery not as had as it seems but very slightly annoying to switch a battery in and out all the time.

The cable that came with the phone when I first got it was defective so it would not surprise me if yours was broken too. Have you tried with a different cable and charger?

Well Ladies and Gents, my Warranty replacement Gs3 should be here on Tue. Metro rep said I will get a text when its here. IMO the charge circuit on the phone was damaged by the overheat, otg even stopped working. The original battery charges fine. Had to spend on external charger that includes another battery. So lesson for the day is don't watch Netflix or do anythjing that takes a lot of juice while charging your phone. :banghead:
