will these work on carbon ROM?

Yea just navigate to system then media look to see if you see a zip folder named bootanimation.Zip and if u do then any of these animation should work fine for you. The only roms that don't work with such zip animations are stock touch wiz on ics and up but making it work isn't hard I explained the steps in a above post. But your good to go since carbon already comes set.

Will the boot animations in ROM manager work on metropolis before I tinker? Been hit or miss in the past

Edit: I meant rom toolbox lol

Im trying to install a bootanimation, although metropolis and carbon rom never have their original bootanimation.zip. i even did a clean install and nothing. all i get is a black screen until the phone finishes booting up. Btw im currently running Carbon Rom build 03-12-2013-013250. I checked the permissions and they are correct, even tried the method n4zty posted still nothing. Any help is appreciated.

does carbon have its own boot animation? im sure it does i might have a go at carbon just to see what its running not sure if its running stock animations or whatever but chances are u might be placing bootanimation.zip in the wrong spot. ill have it checked out just curiousity then ill post back pics and steps.

open up the .zip file you downloaded and pull the bootanimation.zip out and place it in/system/media/ permissions set to rw-r-r and reboot.

oh dont tell me you zipped up a bootanimation zip loooool oh wow nutt.

Edit: ah seems these were meant to be flashed with recovery to have bootnaimation replaced for you automactically.. yea that explains alot for new peeps trying these out.

Yes it does. I'm putting the bootanimation.zip in system/media but there is no bootanimation.zip by default in there after a clean install. So itried putting it in there just to see if it works but nothing. Also tried though recovery and still nothing...

Edit: Ok finally got it working it was my fault when creating a custom bootanimation lol

haha no prob this is a discovery by trial and error situation. also nuttmeg mentioned alot of the zip files hes linking in this thread are zipped to be flashed with custom recovery so if for whatever reason ya want to place the bootanimation.zip in the system/media directory manually ya will have to extract the zip and pull the bootanimation.zip from the zip package.

Oh ok, my problem was that when i was putting my bootanimation.zip into the flash-able zip i forgot to put it as "store" in the compression menu. :o
