Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] carbonrom

I paired this ROM with Lean Kernel v2.5, and Inverted Gapps. Phone runs perfectly fine from what I can tell. Display hasnt dimmed itself like it did on the other 4.2 ROMs. I have yet to have the phone die on me, but my longest standing was from a full charge, 6hrs 30 mins on battery, with little 4g and wifi, some music, and down to 92% battery. :smokingsomb:
 
MMS works on mine, but sms doesn't... gets stuck at "sending"
After reboot I fixed permissions... still no SMS. :/


Same thing with the Illusion ROM - has to be something in the FW?

Anyone know of a fix?

In the download links, go to the extras section and look for the mms link. Download and flash and enjoy. Everything works for me.
 
Well, back to cm10.1 For now since the data on carbon ROM randomly stops working. I reflashed 3 times with the same problem.:confused: Still a Great ROM though :D
 
i can use any of the aokp/cm10.1 themes from the play store or xda for any aosp rom right? just curious cause i want a different color scheme for the rom.

There's a little fix you can do that I did. Using root explorer, go to the cm10.1 file you have on the sd card, browse inside the zip file to system->lib, and copy the file named "libril-qc-qmi-1.so" and paste it in the lib folder on your phone (system->lib). Fix perms, and reboot just to be sure. although in my experience the replaced file will start working right off the bat.

Jus tried that. Didn't work. Oh well thx for the help:)

Edit: ugh I feel dumb. Forgot that the Data usage warning turns off the data lol. Everything is working fine 👍

Well, Ive tried every ROM/kernel that will work on our phone, and I can't get any 4.2 ROM to have SMS that splits up large messages into multiple texts... but it works just fine on most of the 4.1/4.1.2 ROMs. TW or AOSP.

None of the fixes I've tried so far have been able to make it work right on a 4.2 ROM. :confused:
So until I figure this thing out, I guess I'm stuck with Chemistry v6 or KingKang... the two that work best on my phone so far.

Anyone else with this issue?

Do you want MMS split only? I have the same issue you do but I just set it to send large texts as MMS and it sends fine.

Nah, I want it to send a large SMS split up as multiple SMS's. Chemistry v6 does it, as well as KingKang. I have a fix that will send it as an MMS, but it's not practical for a few people I text to frequently, and so the search continues. lol

I run BB6 & the the SMSs split just fine .

well, I dont think a kernel will fix that issue.. thats an application thing. but BB7 sms split worked for me, and so did the mms file provided in the add-ons link for this ROM. Have you tried using the mms.apk file from BB7?

I was going to for the first time try a rom from outside of this forum which i never do but looking at specs from above post its just a themed cm10 with tablet setting ui so we get to the point if i dress up a duck as a chicken is it a chicken?? bottom point a themed rom dosn't improve performance only build prop tweaks and kernel can ever achieve that. It has a very clean look but thats about it. Im glad you guys are experimenting with out side source but i guess what it comes down to is either user's preference or just a simple fad...

Agreed. I'm just trying to find one that works on my phone and has everything working... So far ( at least, on my phone ), all the ROMs have 1 or 2 little things broken. :confused:
I may just have to go back to stock, whether I like it or not. Lol
 
it ruined all of my internal memory and wiped it entirely clean :( when i flashed the rom i wiped cache dalvik factory reset and then i wiped system this should not happen
