Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Does the JellyBean update include Hotspot?

Hi, can someone tell me if the jellybean update to MetroPCS S3 still includes the 4G Mobile Hotspot?

I can't find that information anywhere and I'm trying to figure it out before updating from 4.0.2 as I do use the hotspot occasionally with the User Agent switch trick.

it does include the metro hotpsot only works if u pay for it other than that use the treve mod wifi hotspot app.
 
Thanks guys, it seems I have no option but to root once I update to Jellybean. The only nuisance is that rooting JB on the mac doesn't seem straightforward.
 
That can't be true. I upgraded to jellybean and I still have 4G Mobile Hotspot. I just used it yesterday to tether to my ipad for facetime use.

ok are u using the metro branded tether app? if so are u paying for it? cuz the only way to use the only tethering app on metro's stock jellybean is to pay $10 extra a month.....

I'm not paying 10 bucks extra. I'm using the app that comes on the phone at stock.
 
That's the thing on jelly bean there's only one and that's the metro one so if u can take a pic of the app itself that's would be really helpful. Also I might of seen the samsung tether app on quick shortcut maker but I never really tried it since the Treve mods works flawlessly. And yes I mean the wifi hot spot that shows on the app list that's the metro coded one.

Does anyone know the settings for Treve Mod Wifi Tether? I have been playing with it but cant get it working for the life of me!

yes i messaged you back seems there was a confusion about whether u were trying to figure out how to setup treve mod or after its setup how to get your browser to change user agent to bypass metro block.

AH!! thank you very very much for the info. I have the settings correct I am sure, I got it working on friends ATT S3 using same settings. Foxfi also does same thing, it says connection on laptop but browser sits at "waiting for...." I did not know I had to change user agent on my laptop browser so thank you very much for the lesson today!

Thanks Boomkid. Today, by accident (damn update popup), I've updated to Jelly Bean and it does indeed keep the 4G Mobile Hotspot as you've mentioned. And it still works perfectly without root.

(this is the same as going to Settings -> More Settings -> Tethering and Mobile Hotspot -> 4G Mobile Hotspot)
