Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] [FIX] MMS Fix for 4.3 P.S.

A lot of people have ran into issues trying to get picture messaging working and overall mms on some 4.3 ROMs. Good news is, not all of us are. I am one of the many with issues and would love to be part of the few who don't;-). As i know, many of us wish to fix this. This is only a THEORY and nothing but benefit can be the outcome if done properly. I would like to ask those with this function working to do me a favor in order to get closer into fixing the issue.

WANNA HELP?---(ONLY if you have MMS(picture messaging, multimedia messaging, etc) and DATA (4g/3g/1x) properly working on boot!)---



Difficulty- Fairly Simple

Time- about 15-30 mins (including upload times and all)

Tools needed- a root explorer (search in Google and you'll get many options to choose from)



The files we're looking for are:

1. "MMS.apk" (found in system/app)

2. "apns-conf.xml" (found in system/etc)

3. "build.prop" (found in system/)



I REPEAT only if you are savvy working around in a root explorer (THIS ISN'T A TUTORIAL) you may continue.

All the files above are fairly simple to find. All I'm asking is to extract them and then upload the files separately into three downloads. Using either d/host, 4 shared, dropbox, etc.

Will be greatly appreciated by many! :)

Thanks to Rooqy and his cooperation, we have a fix :)

Simply download the provided MMS.apk and push to System/apk.

As for the build.prop just a simple copy paste will do.

I have yet to give any 4.3 ROMs a try. But I will. And will just to see if my device will have a working MMS for you. Sadly I have work early in the morning so I have to head of to bed but I'm posting to keep this thread alive. And suggestion on which 4.3 ROM to install?

Honestly it's a hit and miss. Some have it working with slim bean. Others don't....

lol ok. I like using my mms. & goin down the list & rewriting it all is somewhat of a pain lol. Already have the apk installed too
 
Does this fix only work with illusion rom or others as well because I tried it on jellybam rom and it bootlooped my phone when I copy the buil.prop over?

Idk why or how it could be causing boot loops. .. ?? Atm I'm on Rom Number 2. So if any one else wants to shed some light on the situation. Please do.

All your supposed to be doing is a simple copy paste in system.....

Yeah I did that and I pushed the apk with root explorer
 
Thank u so much for your posting. I'm currently trying to install the cm10 on my zte avid and was wondering if this would work for my MMS as well???
