Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] GS3 sudden death :(

While on my deliveries, I was using my gs3's navigation and at one point put it to charge. When I did it suddenly turned off and I had to pull the battery. After unplugging it for another delivery I put it back to charge and it shut off again. This time it wont turn back on even if I leave the battery out for a long time. If I put it to charge for a couple of mins the lower part of the phone feels pretty hot. I heard of some GS3's getting this thing called sudden death syndrome but I wonder if MPCS gs3 is also affected? I had one of the custom roms installed but I think this is a hardware issue.

The same thing was posted in a post here, don't remember which. Anyway, if I remember right, you basically have a book end now :(. The JB update fixed all that...supposedly. Take it to a Metro corporate store & they are supposed to replace it. At least that is what I have read.
 
Yeah, also It happens to me, but my story its different, by the way my phone was rooted. I was flashing a zip file after that, the file failed to be installed so I try to reboot my phone and then, My S3 never turn on again... I tried to charge it but nothing my device didn't even take the charge, it was completely death, so I took to one Metro Warranty Store, so they tried to turn it on and nothing... so since they didn't know about the costum rom I had it because the cellphone didn't turn on, they ordered me a replacement after that I waited two days business and they called to pick my "re manufactured" S3 but it feels like brand new :). End Of the Story... But wait... at the end it wasn't the cellphone the problem, My battery were gone, because they tried to turn it on the "re manufactured" S3 with my old battery and it didn't turn on... so the guy decide to give me both things new, Device and Battery, so after they change the battery my S3 turn on again. they charge me around $50 for both things. Device replacement $15 and battery $35. I hope you have the same lucky like I had Man.
 
Oh ye? well I bought the phone off wirefly brand new of course and have metroguard on it but I dont want to pay the $129 deductible because I had this phone for just over a month.

Just go to metropcs they will exchange under the phones warranty
 
no just go up to the store with the phone, they should be able to pull up your account without any papers just your phone number or the device esn
 
Yeah just bring it to the store. Maybe with any luck some one will let yku double check and make sure your battery isn't the problem first. That is if they want to bs you about getting a replacement.
 
also forgot to mention every one here whether they bought the phone or it was a gift or you bought it on craiglist you still have 1 year warranty from samsung it will take 2 weeks or so to get your phone back so make sure ya got a backup phone.
