Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] help. root

I have a Samsung galaxy s3(metro pcs) SCH-R530M Version 4.1.2. . I cant seem to root it. please help

last thing. do I unzip superuser before I put it on the sd card or unzip in recovery mode

leave as .zip just put it where you can find it on sd

when you boot into custom recovery is will say install zip form sd and goto file

you can copy to phone or sd doesnt matter

my rrot check says it isn't rooted.... super user is installed tho

install an app that needs root. you should be rooted.

see if you need to update your super user binaries

its not rooted. and I couldn't find anywhere on the super user too udate

also when I went into recovery mode it didn't say install zip from either ext/int. it jus had update from external

I used odin to install the tar file. said 1 successful/0 failed. phone rebooted.


Then I moved the zip file onto my s3.



When I booted into recovery it didn't have anything about install jus said update from external so I did. found super user. after it did its thing it rebooted then I checked root checker. and it said no root access

thanks so much man. I messed up by not loading the super user to my sd before I flashed the tar file. again sry for being suck a noob lol

Try this after you flash the recovery pull the battery and boot into recovery and flash SU. I think if you let the phone reboot after flashing recovery it will get replaced by stock recovery.
