Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] How to root on new update

The only way to root 4.1.2 Jellybean is to flash with Odin, but that's gonna trip the phone's flash counter and install CWM. I want neither. So I'm waiting for an "exploit" or whatever they call it, basically the automatic rooting files.

Then if you dont want cwm just install twrp from goomanager it will overwrite cwm and then finally for the flash counter trip, you just download triangle away from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114 and download only the triangle away apk and that will help you reset your flash counter...its very easy to do...

Yes it does...if firmware is not directly supported it will boot into special mode to reset counter
 
Okay, I plan to:

1. Use Odin to flash root into my phone BUT without installing the CWM (and possibly without the BusyBox; I have BusyBox Pro and don't want the two versions to conflict.) I really just want the root and SuperSU.

2. Use Triangle Away to immediately reset the flash counter.



Still looking for a way to Odin-flash root without installing CWM.
 
I used Mobile Odin Pro. Worked like a charm.

Yes I am curious if the Triangle Away works to reset flash counter on 4.1.2 MB2 Stock Root with TWRP.

yes such apps dont go by what version android you are using notice theres no disclaimer talking about it only works for ics or jb since it has nothing to do with your rom/firmware. in conclusion aslong as your using a device thats supproted in their list of supproted device thats all you have to look for and yes our metropcs sch-r530m has been officially recently so your all good.

In download mode Flash counter is NO.
in Triangle Away counter: 0
Binary: Official

So this wont change until I flash a custom ROM or Flash something in Odin, correct?
 
yes and to be specific the counter is tripped when using odin. not sure if mobile odin trips counter as well but probaly so let me check min i did flash 4.1.2 with mobile odin.

yea its zero but i think i might of done a reset recently but cant remember lol
