If you can get into download mode just restore to stock using shabbys stock tar.

And if you get it restored and really want Beats install AC!D Mod for the S3 it has beats built into it.

odin can find my phone, but I keep getting a fail. What am I doing wrong?

Here are step by step directions bro man cause i was bricked by that app to at one point.........Steps to unbrick:
1.download odin
2.download firmware Show Devices From Region | Samsung Updates (click teh H)
3.then extract teh file
4.open odin and click on "PDA" and choose the extracted file
5.turn off your device and press home plus power and volume down button at the same time and then press volume up button
6.now connect your device and click on start
7.it will take sm time to flash
8.after flashing is complete it will automatically reboot and there you go!!!
9.ejnoyyyyyyy!!!!
