Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] I'm Thinking of Rooting

Newbie
I want to root my GS3. I am not new to rooting, but the last device I rooted on was on Android 2.2. It has beed a while. I have insurance, so I am looking for the easiest and safest way. I want to be able to have warranty still. I know if you un-root you are still covered. I am just looking for some input. Thank you

Rooting does void the warranty. That said there are ways to go back to stock and reset the counter, so it does not appear to have been rooted. Now if something happens that you can not correct and go back you stand the chance of having a problem. At this point you may have to pay the deductible for an insurance claim.

Awe yes! Definitely root, you can always go back to stock in case you need to file an insurance claim. What I have done in the past was hard brick my devices before returning. (In case you don't know how to return to stock.) Please note for any internet police people that was a while ago, so don't be an ass and try to report me.

I have rooted most of my devices: G1, Gtab, Nook Color, my S3 and several of my friends phones. You may be rusty though, so I would suggest reading and rereading the rooting guides and custom recovery flash methods. Always nandroid back up before any ROM flash, never leave anything go chance. All it takes is @10 min and it prevents future headaches.

Good luck Jacob

I used the Samsung tool kit. Just search the forum for the thread. 1 click, that's all to root and flash recovery
