Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Just wondering...

Okay, so right now I have the LG Optimus M. I have gone through so much with this lil guy for over a year, and now, it's time to move on. I'm thinking of getting the Samsung Galaxy S3 for MetroPCS very soon, but my only question is: do all ROMS made for the SGS3 work on any carrier?
If that doesn't make sense, then would a ROM on the AT&T thread work for the SGS3 on MetroPCS, or not?

no you can't go over to att thread and get roms from there. yeah its the same phone but they would have to be ported over to the metro sg3

All carriers will not have the same rom, there are different radio's in each phone.

Metro PCS - CDMA, LTE

ATT - GSM, HSPA+, HSPA,

T-Mobile - GSM

yea the radios is what makes flashing roms from else where funky. shabby had me try a kernel from a gs3 from verizon it didnt boot up at first but after two boot loops it booted up but i started having probs left and right after 5 min of use.
