Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Kernels

what governors are you guys using? overclocking the cpu its expected to get warmer due to the additional strain.

I underclocked @ 1.3 and got a lil warm not bad but I did notice if it got way too hot for some reason it would be at 1.8 without me changing it... This is on king Kang...on demand and interactive

same here. i have it set to interactive and i try playing something intensive on the cpu and go back to the controls and the upper limit is automatically readjusted to 1.8ghz. i want to keep it a little lower than that but i dunno, i'll have to try out the other governors. running blackbean

edit: also not sure if that's supposed to happen or not. seems like it shouldn't though because there are those bars you can adjust.

Its a issue that's known to shabby and myself also. I haven't released lean kernel yet because of it. Im running Lean kernel using Android over clock to set screen on and off profiles,it seems to be helping. Also, for these kernels on the other s3 variants, its been shown that setting the frequencies using cm10's (or aokp/black beans) built in performance menu seems to not work well, and the settings often won't stick. Try using a separate app to set the freq's.

On a side note I'm working on a different kernel altogether. I may not release lk at all, there are some thing so I'm not to excited about in Lean kernel.

alright, i'll just be patient and wait for it to fix. i'm not worryign too much though, hasn't seemed to get too hot yet.

for the record to anyone who is wondering, i was setting the max clock using the FauxClock app from google play and it still didn't stay at my set number.

I was using "no frills cpu classic" & the governors & sliders stayed put. I also used performance governor all the time. I'll go back & retry some of the others to see what they do,

performance means it maxes out your cpu and stays on max clock, decent for gaming or making sure you dont have lag but horrible for battery

Lol yeah. I kinda wondered why my battery was goin dead pretty quick. & that's probably. It was getting hot real quick. Using interactive right now. Was reading that it's a very good governor. Plus I'm not overheating at 1.7

This is not bad:D
