Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Liquidsmooth rom for d2mtr

Sorry I haven't been on in awhile. I had a family emergency and have been dealing with that. After fixing the permissions the phone doesn't go into the boot loop anymore, but I still can't overclock the phone. Is that not a feature of liquid smooth v2.10?? Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever been able to overclock with any of the other ROMs I've used since I rooted the phone. Its not really a big deal, I'm just wondering if I should be able to and I'd like to see how the phone would perform over clocked a little bit.
As always any help & information is greatly appreciated... Jeremy
 
I don't know if it matters, but right now I would be using jrummys ROM toolbox to overclock. It has that feature in the performance section. I can underclock just not overclock.

I know how to root the phone and flash different ROMs, but I'm still somewhat of a newbie when it comes to certain things. How would I go about changing the kernal and how would I know what/where to get the correct kernal? Sorry to ask such a newbie question, but I really don't want to do something that will harm my phone...as always thank you very much for your reply.

You flash kernels just like you flash Roms... With one exception.

You only wipe dalvik cache and cache.

The other important things to know are that kernels are 1) android version specific and 2) manufacturer skin/overlay specific

So you'll have different 4.1 jellybean kernels for both AOSP and touchwiz. An aosp kernel won't work on a touchwiz ROM, and the reverse is also true.
