Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] MMS fix trick

I'm running aokp and today I tried to send a picture message but I wasn't able to and it would just say "Service not activated on network". After using my best friend Google I tried different things to fix this. In the end the method that work was downloading a 3rd party app( i used go sms) and send a picture message. If successful go back to your stock app and try sending another picture message. It should send fine after that. Not sure if this will help everyone but it helped me, so just trying to save others with the same problem some time (:

Thanks for sharing but my situation is different in my case mms do go through but when the person replies to me I get the reply on a separate thread instead of getting it in the same conversation thread I originally started does it make sense lol but anyway I been dealing with it since other than that my phone likes aokp
 
I was actually having the same problem in my gnex. First time it happened and it was with the newest version of the bb mms. I flashed the mms instead of pushing it and wiped cache and dalvik and it started working just fine.

Thanks fuzzy how you flash the mms since I changed the extension to zip and it failed also try it with root explorer and no luck :confused:
 
yep thats why when i shared the mms.apk from another phone basic mms would work there are stuff still that need to be fixed on our roms with the mms.apk me and shab are playing with it right now. but hey atleast we got the basics working for now.
 
I flash the stable version of AOKP and the new gapps and everything is working really good, I recommend to do full wipe before and wipe cache,dalvik cache after flashing .;)

Looks like me and you are the only ones with this issue chiwen has try to help me on this issue its just comes in on a different thread
 
I read around that there is more than one way to fix this. Google really is your best friend :D. The threads over at Xda are helpful but I've always stuck here since I had my esteem (;

I also noticed something else. This will sound weird but I had to do it several times to make sure it was right. I would have to send a small picture first. Then I could could send anything. I would send these to myself to test. If I tried sending a large picture first, it wouldn't work. I recommend a png of an icon or something like that. Sounds crazy and dumb. I don't know why it works like that but it does. I have to do this when ever I flash a new Rom.

Worth a shot.

Ive also got no prob sending and recieving on shabby penguin's black bean rom 6
ive been tesing these 2 roms off and on and they been working pretty well. just a few more things that could be tweaked i would have to take my time speaking with these two devs and let them know what could be improved and its all basically small stuff.

Working fine for me. Shabby's bb6. did a ton of testing yesterday and it worked great. Probably sent and received over 75 picture messages yesterday alone
