all depends where u live. theres not a single modem out there that works the same for every user. so with that being said its to your benefit to try them out and see which is best for u. and take into consideration the essential modem for you has to be one that gives u more bars in more places more 4g coverage and faster 4g. also bettery consumption should be in your list somewhere. right now md3 is the latest. ive been hitting high 8mbps lately up to 10 mbps instead of 3-4mbps like normal at home. also for some, some modem improves battery life or reduces it. so its a tricky one the only way to find out is to test every one of them for a day and see how much it improves or worsens your phone's performance.
 
other carriers radios do not work with our variant. i tested this theory out the day i got my sgs3 (looking back it sa really good thing i didnt cause permanent dmg after everyone paid to get me one :P )

i tried teh uscc radio as it is teh same device and it flipped out. so i would highly suggest you dont flash the verizon radio.
